Water Stains Problems
Stains are caused by iron and low pH water and can create rust. Your water can contain iron or manganese, which can cause rusty-orange or black staining and even alter hair colour. A telltale sign is blue-green stains on just about anything.
Some stains can take on the appearance of rust spots. Not only does it affect appearance, but it can lead to rusty pipes and residue.
Iron and manganese also give water an unpleasant smell. This may indicate a clogged water piping system, or an appliance plugged with rust and sediment.
